(7/1/2008) During the Global Event on Measurign the Information Society, which brought together an important number of countries in Geneva, in May 27 to 30, the publication "The Global Information Society: a Statistical View 2008" was launched. The document assesses progress in measuring the information society by showing available ICT indicators and exploring remaining data gaps. While it shows that data availability in the developing world remains limited, it highlights the progress that has been made over the last few years. Particularly it can be followed from the publication that Latin America is one of the regions which had done major progresses.
