Open-ended meeting of the Presiding Officers of the ECLAC sessional Ad Hoc Committee on Population and Development was held in Santiago, Chile, on 10 and 11 March 2004.

The meeting was attended by representatives of 38 States members of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Spain, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay and Venezuela. Also attending was a representative of an associate member of the Commission: Puerto Rico.
