OBJETIVOS Y FUNCIONES:

Integrar a las mujeres en el proceso de desarrollo del país;

Desarrollar servicios para todas las mujeres;

Ofrecer a las mujeres capacitación que les permita trabajar independientemente, como miembros integrales de la sociedad;

Cumplir con los mandatos nacionales e internacionales relativos a la mujer;

En conjunto con otras organizaciones, estudiar los planes de acción de la Secretaría del Commonwealth, de la Secretaría de la CARICOM y de la Comisión Interamericana de Mujeres, a fin de seleccionar proyectos y programas que coincidan con el plan de desarrollo del país;

Organizar talleres y sesiones de capacitación sobre los temas indicados a continuación, de conformidad con lo recomendado en el informe de la Cuarta Conferencia Mundial sobre la Mujer (1995):

Alivio y erradicación de la pobreza;

Diversidad de la estructura familiar y crecimiento de la población;

Atención de la salud de la familia;

Población y medio ambiente.

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS:

To integrate women in the development process of the country;

To develop capacities and services for all women;

To provide women with training so that they will be capable of working on their own as full members of society;

To fulfill national and international mandates on women's issues;

Jointly with other organizations, to study the Plans of Action of the Commonwealth Secretariat and CARICOM Secretariat as well as the one from the Inter-American Commission of Women in order to select projects and programmes which would coincide with the Development Plan of the country;

To hold training workshops and sessions on the following issues recommended by the final report of the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, 1995):

Alleviation/eradication of poverty;

Diversity of family structure and population growth;

Family health-care;

Population and environment.

Cumbre Mundial en favor de la Infancia;

Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Medio Ambiente y el Desarrollo;

Conferencia Internacional de Nutrición;

Conferencia Mundial sobre los Derechos Humanos;

Organiza cursos de capacitación para pequeñas empresarias.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

Works in close collaboration with the public and private sectors in matters related to regional and international activities, specially with regard to the recommendations of the following reports:

World Summit for Children;

United Nations Conference on Environment and Development;

International Nutrition Conference;

World Conference on Human Rights;

Makes plans to impart training courses to small entrepreneurs.

OBJETIVOS Y FUNCIONES:

Estudiar temas vinculados a la vida familiar en el país, en colaboración con organizaciones de mujeres y jóvenes, instituciones religiosas, centros culturales y deportivos nacionales, y con clubs y organizaciones como el Club de Leones, Rotary International, Jaycees, Men in the Church, Girls Scouts y Boys Scouts.

OBJECTIVES AND FUNCTIONS:

To study issues which have an effect on family life in the country, in collaboration with women's organizations, youth and religious organizations, cultural and sports centers at the national level, as well as clubs and organizations like the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, Jaycees, Men in the Church, Girls and Boys Scouts.
