The event was organized by UN Human Rights in South America (OHCHR), the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Alicia Bárcena, the regional organization’s Executive Secretary, participated via video message in the first Summit on Biodiversity convened by the UN.
ECLAC’s Executive Secretary called on countries to promote an Environmental Big Push in the wake of COVID-19, where the economy, employment and sustainability go together, during an event organized by the OECD.
