The XXXVI Regional Seminar on Fiscal Policy concluded today at ECLAC’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile, having brought together authorities from 13 countries’ Finance Ministries, experts and prominent scholars at a global level.
The organization’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, reiterated the importance of reducing the high level of tax evasion and illicit financial flows, upon presenting the “Fiscal Panorama of Latin America and the Caribbean 2019” in Washington.
Ministers and authorities from 10 countries in the region are meeting at ECLAC to dialogue about how to expand fiscal space and bolster financing of the 2030 Agenda.
In its annual publication “Fiscal Panorama of Latin America and the Caribbean 2019,” the organization highlights the role of tax policy in fulfilling the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
