The sixth meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development, convened each year under ECLAC’s auspices, will be held on April 25-28, 2023 in Santiago, Chile.
This is one of the five regional forums on climate initiatives to finance climate action and the SDGs, which are taking place ahead of the upcoming COP27 presided by Egypt.
At ECLAC’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile, President Gabriel Boric will lead the opening ceremony of COP 1 of Latin America and the Caribbean’s first environmental treaty next Wednesday, April 20.
Due to the global epidemiological situation, this event will take place virtually on March 15-18, 2021. During the meeting, ECLAC’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, will present a report on regional progress and challenges in relation to the 2030 Agenda.
On Wednesday, August 7, Peter Thomson will meet with Alicia Bárcena, Executive Secretary of the UN regional organization, and will hold a press conference afterwards at the Commission’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile.
